Help spread the word about quality jobs in the residential construction industry with new resources available on nahb.org.
NAHB is partnering with educators, members, and state and local HBAs to address the housing industry’s labor shortages and to develop a skilled workforce for the future.
We’ve added a new Building a Skilled Labor Workforce page to help educators, policymakers and industry partners recruit students to the trades. Highlights include:
  • Careers in Construction Month Toolkit: The month of October is an opportunity to increase public awareness about the opportunities available in residential construction. The toolkit provides easy ideas to promote construction careers in your community.
  • Promotional Materials: Use these in guidance counselor offices, career centers and community centers; distribute them at college and career fairs; and promote them in your workplace.
  • Students in Action: See how HBAs around the country are teaming up with student chapters and educational partners to recruit and train a new generation of skilled workers.
  • Videos: Show students the great career opportunities available in the residential construction industry.
Plus, our members-only Skilled Workforce Development Resources page now features lesson plans that building professionals can use to encourage interest in construction careers at the middle school level.
